Overview

The 23rd edition of the Rolex Swan Cup in Porto Cervo, Italy, has concluded, drawing over 1,800 sailors. The biennial event, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in collaboration with Nautor Swan, coincided with the 60th anniversary of the Nautor Swan shipyard.

During the second day of racing, which featured Mistral winds between 16 and 26 knots across the La Maddalena Archipelago and the Gulf of Arzachena, Freya (Swan 90) took a provisional lead in the Swan Maxi class with 8 points. In the Swan Mini-Maxi category, Arobas (Swan 601) held a two-point lead over Cloudy 7, while the Swan Cruiser Racer class remained highly competitive with From Now On trailing Thetis by only one point. Other category leaders included Lunz am Meer in the Classics by Frers, Pride in the Swan Legacy ≤44’, Earlybird in the ClubSwan 50, and Pez de Abril in the ClubSwan 42.

By the end of the regatta, Freya secured victory in the Swan Maxi class after a comeback, winning three consecutive races following a sixth-place finish in the opening heat. YCCS Commodore Andrea Recordati noted the high level of participation and the long-standing partnership between the club, Rolex, and Nautor Swan. The next edition of the regatta is scheduled for 2028.
