Rolls-Royce expands defense partnerships in Australia and India

Rolls-Royce has announced several strategic expansions in the defense and aerospace sectors, involving partnerships in Australia and India.

In Australia, Rolls-Royce is expanding its collaboration with Marand Precision Engineering to supply naval gas turbine propulsion packages for the Type 26 Global Combat Ship programme. Marand will manufacture and assemble acoustic enclosures and ship interface systems at its Melbourne facility. Additionally, Rolls-Royce has opened a new regional Defence Headquarters in Canberra to support the Australian Defence Force and bolster sovereign industrial capability in the Pacific Rim.

In India, Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce have announced a strategic intent to partner on the development of a sovereign indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. The collaboration aims to combine Rolls-Royce’s propulsion expertise with Reliance’s manufacturing scale. The companies are exploring the creation of a dedicated Aero Gas Turbine Complex in India to serve as a center of excellence for power and propulsion technology.
