Rolls‑Royce expands engine support with Sabena contract and civil‑aviation maintenance upgrades

Rolls‑Royce has signed a MissionCare agreement with Sabena technics to provide flight‑hour‑based sustainment for the AE 2100D3 turboprop engines that power the French‑German C‑130J Super Hercules fleet. The partnership aims to maximise engine availability for both tactical and humanitarian missions, enhancing operational readiness of the bi‑national fleet.

In its civil aerospace division, Rolls‑Royce reports that increased maintenance capacity and supply‑chain stability have effectively eliminated aircraft‑on‑ground delays. Large‑engine maintenance output rose 13% and refurbishments 35% in the first half of 2026. Upgraded high‑pressure turbine blades have been installed on much of the Trent 1000 TEN and Trent 7000 fleets, extending time‑on‑wing and supporting a durability program that targets over a 100% increase by the end of 2027.
