Romain Bouvier appeals sentence in Federico Martin Aramburu case
Romain Bouvier has decided to appeal his 19-year prison sentence for the attempted murder of former Argentine international rugby player Federico Martin Aramburu. The decision was confirmed by his lawyer following the verdict delivered in a Paris court.
The incident occurred on March 19, 2022, on Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris, following an altercation at the Mabillon bar. Bouvier, 35, was convicted of attempted murder and unauthorized possession of weapons and ammunition. During the trial, he admitted to firing shots but claimed he was aiming at the ground.
In the same case, Loïk Le Priol was sentenced to 26 years in prison for the murder of Martin Aramburu. Unlike Bouvier, Le Priol has not yet decided whether to appeal his sentence. The defendants were identified as being part of the ultra-right movement.
