Roman Giertych Demands Sanctions After Sejm Clash with Kaczyński and Czarnek

During a floor speech in the Polish Sejm, opposition MP Roman Giertych accused PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński of misusing 18 million zł from the Justice Fund for his knee surgery and criticised former health minister Przemysław Czarnek over the COVID‑19 mask procurement scandal. He urged the Sejm Ethics Committee to punish Kaczyński for vulgar language – reportedly calling Giertych “s*******j, gówniarzu” – and to strip him of half his remuneration for three months. Giertych also lodged a complaint against Czarnek, demanding similar disciplinary measures. The heated exchange saw Czarnek shouting “Oddaj kasę!” and other MPs chanting “Polnord”. Giertych cited earlier investigations into the Polnord corporate case and reiterated that citizens and media have the right to be outraged over the South Hospital affair, while PiS members do not.

The motion, submitted to the Ethics Committee and the Sejm Presidium, seeks formal sanctions for the alleged misconduct and abusive conduct on the parliamentary floor.
