Romania adds CBRN detector and Warmate loitering munition production

At the Black Sea Defence, Aerospace and Security (BSDA) 2026 exhibition in Bucharest, SEC Technologies and its Romanian partner MATE‑FIN demonstrated the Falcon 4G active stand‑off detector. The system is designed to identify chemical threats from a safe distance for defence, CBRN protection, emergency response and critical‑infrastructure security, and was tested in recent exercises with Romanian army, interior ministry and research institutes.

During the same event, Polish defence group WB and Romanian aerospace firm Romaero signed an industrial cooperation agreement to produce the Warmate loitering munition and related unmanned‑air systems. The pact will adapt Romaero’s facilities for serial production for the Romanian armed forces and European markets, under the EU SAFE programme, and is intended to pave the way for broader collaborations such as the Gladius UAV system.

Both initiatives highlight Romania’s expanding domestic defence‑industry capabilities and its role as a regional hub for advanced CBRN detection and unmanned‑weapon technologies.
