Romania advances Autostrada A13 Sibiu‑Făgăraș, work reaches up to 44%

The Turkish contractor Makyol is building the 68‑km A13 Sibiu‑Făgăraș highway in Romania. On sections 1 (Boița‑Avrig, 14.2 km) and 2 (Avrig‑Arpașu de Jos, 19.9 km) the physical progress stands at about 17 % and 40 % respectively, with a combined workforce of roughly 800 workers and 400 pieces of equipment. The contract for these two sections totals 3.43 billion lei, financed through the 2021‑2027 Transport Programme, and the entire route is targeted for completion by 2028.

Further work on sections 3 (Arpașu de Jos‑Sâmbăta de Sus, 17.6 km) and 4 (Sâmbăta de Sus‑Făgăraș, 16.3 km) has reached 44 % and 27 % completion. These sections employ about 770 workers and 368 machines and involve the construction of dozens of bridges, including several complex arch and metal spans. The ongoing tasks include earthworks, drainage systems, and the erection of bridge decks and piers, as well as a new 5.6‑km link to DN1.
