Infrastructure projects advance across Romania and Moldova

Various infrastructure projects are underway across Romania and Moldova to improve transportation networks. In Romania, the Ministry of Transport has authorized the modernization of two railway level crossings in Brașov, a project valued at nearly four million lei. Additionally, work is progressing on the A8 Union Highway in Harghita, with over 300 workers and 240 machines active on the first mountain section. Other major Romanian projects include asphalt laying on the Sibiu-Pitești motorway and the development of a bypass for Feldioara.

In Moldova, significant improvements are being made to the road and rail networks. A bridge over the Răut river and a railway passage on the Bălți bypass have been reopened to traffic following rehabilitation works. In Chișinău, the expansion of Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard has commenced, a 74.3 million euro project aimed at improving urban mobility and utility networks. Furthermore, Calea Ferată din Moldova is analyzing plans to extend the railway line to the Giurgiulești State Port to enhance logistics and reduce costs. In the north of the country, the National Road Administration has contracted the construction of over 3.9 kilometers of new sidewalks on four national roads.
