Romania advances respiratory health through free testing and medical conferences
Medical professionals and organizations in Romania are conducting initiatives to improve respiratory health awareness and diagnostic capabilities. In Bucharest and Popești-Leordeni, the Romanian Society of Pneumology is organizing free spirometry testing through October 2. This non-invasive lung function test aims to detect respiratory issues early, addressing concerns regarding the underdiagnosis of conditions like asthma and COPD.
Simultaneously, a national conference titled ‘State of the Art in Pneumology: between tradition and innovation – 2026’ is being held in Cluj-Napoca from September 30 to October 3. Organized by the Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the Leon Daniello Clinical Hospital of Pneumophthisiology, and the ‘Aer pentru toți’ Association, the event brings together domestic and international experts. The conference focuses on multidisciplinary approaches, including lung cancer therapies, biological treatments, AI in diagnostics, and precision medicine.
