Romania advances road infrastructure projects in Constanța and Arad
The Constanța County Council reports that the rehabilitation and modernization of county roads DJ226A (Târgușor Verde – Cogealac) and DJ226B (Cogealac – Grădina – Pantelimon – Crucea) has reached 14.16% completion. Work includes excavation, foundation layers, sand placement, and bridge consolidation, with temporary traffic routes established to ensure safety. The project, funded under the Regional Programme, aims to improve road safety, reduce travel times and boost connectivity for residents and businesses.
In Arad County, the county council transferred a 10‑km segment of DJ791 (km 23+946 – km 33+200) to four local communes—Olari, Zărand, Sintea Mare and Șicula—reclassifying it from a county road to a local road. The reclassification follows technical criteria concerning road width and carriageway standards. The communes are expected to receive funding from the county council for subsequent road modernization.
