Romania allocates over 25 million lei to upgrade Novaci and Galaţi hospitals
The town of Novaci will see its municipal hospital’s outpatient clinic modernised with a total investment of 20,485,670.67 lei, of which 17,248,531.50 lei comes from non‑repayable EU funds. The project, running from June 2026 to July 2029, will reconfigure the facility, add state‑of‑the‑art medical equipment and launch seven screening programmes covering tuberculosis, cervical, breast, ovarian, neonatal and other health concerns.
In Galaţi County, the council has approved a 5.2 million‑lei construction of a new hygiene unit at the County TBC Hospital. The structure’s basic frame, including 55 cubic metres of concrete, has been poured, and the 300‑square‑metre building will host areas for washing, disinfecting, drying and storing clean linen, as well as technical spaces, aiming to improve staff working conditions and patient comfort while enhancing energy efficiency.
