Prut River: Feasibility studies completed for four new Romania-Moldova bridges
Feasibility studies for four new road bridges over the Prut River have been completed, marking a significant step in improving connectivity between Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The projects aim to link specific border locations: Stânca (RO) – Costești (MD), Bumbăta (RO) – Leova (MD), Fălciu (RO) – Leca (MD), and Răducăneni (RO) – Bărboieni (MD).
Ionel Scrioșteanu, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, announced that the technical documentation has been submitted to the National Company of Automobile Roads and Bridges (CNAIR) for the next phase of approvals. The contract for these studies was awarded to LIKE Consulting for 4.4 million lei, excluding VAT. The initiative is part of a broader strategic goal to ensure that each of the 11 Moldovan districts bordering the Prut River has at least one road bridge connection to Romania.
