Romania expands early childhood education via PNRR funding

Romania is expanding its early childhood education infrastructure through various regional projects funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

In Reteag, Bistrița-Năsăud, a new 40-place nursery has been inaugurated. This facility, the 105th of its kind completed under the national program, was built with over 11 million lei in funding from the Ministry of Development. The modern building features solar panels and ecological systems to meet current energy efficiency standards.

In Poșta Câlnău, the Constantin Ivănescu Coordination Gymnasium School has implemented a European-funded project to establish complementary educational services for children under six, specifically targeting those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The project, valued at approximately 1.2 million lei in non-reimbursable funds, includes the digitalization and equipping of spaces to support at least 50 children and their parents.
