Romania approves major hospital upgrades in Pitești and Constanța

The Argeș County Council approved a 5.46 million‑lei investment to modernise the Pitești County Emergency Hospital. The project will link a newly built block with the existing facility, adding specialised corridors, a dedicated lift, and upgraded heating, ventilation and climate‑control systems. Work is expected to take about seven months and aims to improve patient flow and safety.

In Constanța, the national government confirmed continued financing for the new Mama și Copilul Hospital, the first new hospital built in the city in decades. County Council President Florin Mitroi thanked the prime minister and several ministers, noting the hospital is slated to become operational by 2027 and will serve to save children’s lives.

Both projects are part of Romania’s broader effort to upgrade regional health infrastructure.
