Romania celebrates sculptor Constantin Brancusi with new exhibition and award

Romania is marking the 150th anniversary of sculptor Constantin Brancusi with several cultural events. In Targu Jiu, the exhibition “Brancusi – Fotografia. Atelierul invizibil” has opened, featuring 33 original photographs taken by the artist himself. These images, sourced from the David Grob Gallery, depict his sculptures and pedestals from his Parisian studio.

Additionally, the Grigore Bradea Prize 2026 is now open for applications from young Romanian sculptors. From October 31 to December 10, 2026, graduates under the age of 35 may apply for the award, which includes a net sum of 10,000 lei and the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition at the Bistrita-Nasaud Museum Complex.
