Romania completes major highway works near Nădășelu, Mihăiești and DN68A

The Transylvania motorway segment between Nădășelu and Mihăiești has reached about 67% completion, with the installation of girders on two key viaducts nearly finished. At the Topa Mică viaduct, only 16 of 400 girders remain, while the Nădășelu viaduct still requires 48 of 192. Around 400 workers and 150 machines are employed on the project, which is funded by the Transport 2021‑2027 program and valued at roughly one billion lei. Once the viaducts and the 43 km stretch to Poarta Sălajului are finished, drivers will enjoy an uninterrupted 155 km stretch between Poarta Sălajului and Târgu Mureș.

Separately, repairs on the DN68A section that fills the missing link of the A1 motorway (Margina–Holdea, km 49+829 to 51+300) have been completed. The work, carried out by Drumuri și Poduri Banat, included pavement restoration, shoulder improvements and new road markings. Authorities stressed that only routine maintenance will follow and urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and signage, especially as traffic peaks in July and August.
