Romania completes two PNRR‑funded day centres for at‑risk children

The communes of Creaca in Sălaj County and Breaza in Buzău County announced the completion of projects funded through Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) Component C13 – Social Reforms. Both projects created day‑centre facilities for children at risk of being separated from their families, offering daytime supervision, education, recreational activities, counseling, and support for parents.

The Creaca centre was built at a total cost of 2,373,589.25 lei, with 1,951,836.26 lei approved from the PNRR. The Breaza centre cost 2,228,377.36 lei, also receiving 1,951,836.34 lei from the plan. Implementation began on 18 June 2024 and is scheduled to finish on 30 June 2026. The centres aim to prevent family separation, improve access to social and educational services for vulnerable children, and enhance parental support.

Both projects were carried out under the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equality of Chances, using EU‑funded recovery resources to strengthen local social infrastructure.
