Romania draws German logistics firms, ranks among Europe's top investment zones

A delegation of German transport and logistics companies will visit Romania and the Republic of Moldova from 26‑30 October 2026, organized by AHK Romania, the Romanian‑German Chamber of Commerce and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The mission aims to identify partners in freight rail and road, multimodal logistics, port operations, digitalisation, automation and sustainable mobility, highlighting Romania’s position as a strategic corridor linking the EU with the Black Sea, the Caucasus and Eastern Europe. Key ports such as Constanţa, Galaţi, Brăila and Giurgiulești are promoted as major hubs for maritime, river, road and rail traffic.

A separate analysis places 36 of Romania’s 41 counties among the most attractive European regions for industrial and logistics investment. The country holds over 8 million sqm of modern industrial space, with 3.9 million sqm in Bucharest and 450 000 sqm under construction nationwide. Romania ranks third in market size within the CEE‑14 region, after Poland and the Czech Republic, and a growing share of leasing demand now comes from production‑related tenants, reflecting a structural shift toward sustainable, high‑tech industrial activity.
