Romania expands youth employment incentives and free digital‑skills training in multiple counties
In the counties of Călărași and Ialomița, a joint project by the regional employment agencies and the Ialomița Youth Foundation offers young people aged 14‑29 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) a cash incentive of up to 27,000 lei for a first permanent full‑time job. The scheme, co‑financed by the EU Social Fund and running from June 2025 to May 2028, pays the allowance monthly for 24 months, starting at 1,000 lei and rising to 1,250 lei after the first year.
In Gorj County, the public‑private “E‑Skill – Digital Skills for the Labour Market” project provides free digital‑competence courses to 602 employees. Participants receive a subsidy of up to 400 lei per hour for 80 hours of IT training and up to 200 lei for 40 hours of non‑formal courses. The programme is open to residents employed in a range of sectors, from industry and trade to health and IT services.
