Romania weather, time changes, and Moldovan airline update

Romania is experiencing warm and variable weather in mid-September 2026. Forecasts indicate high temperatures reaching up to 32 degrees Celsius in some regions, such as southern Oltenia and southwestern Muntenia. While much of the country remains warm, atmospheric instability is expected to increase, bringing rain, lightning, and wind gusts of approximately 45 km/h, particularly in the Southern and Curvature Carpathians.

Agricultural conditions remain favorable in several regions for autumn harvesting and soil preparation due to dry windows, though farmers are advised to monitor soil moisture and wind speeds in Moldova and Dobrogea.

In other news, Romania is scheduled to transition to winter time on the night of October 24–25, 2026, moving clocks back one hour in accordance with European Union directives. Meanwhile, in Moldova, authorities have granted the owners of the country's largest airline a two-month extension to sell the business.
