Romania faces hotter, drier summer in western regions through July‑August 2026

The Romanian National Meteorological Administration (ANM) forecasts that between 6 July and 3 August 2026 the country’s weather will be close to normal at first, but will become increasingly warm, especially in the west and southwest, as the month progresses. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above average in those areas, while most other regions remain near typical summer values.

Precipitation is projected to be below normal throughout the first three weeks, with the greatest deficit in the western half of the country. Later in the period rainfall will be near average elsewhere, though the southwest will see a slight shortfall.
