Romania fuel prices rise; Moldova reports diesel price cut

On June 20 2026, fuel prices in Romania increased modestly. The minimum price for standard gasoline rose to 8.47 lei per litre in Bucharest, Timișoara, Iași and Constanța, while diesel reached 9.03 lei per litre in the same cities. Cluj‑Napoca was the only major city where gasoline did not change, staying at 8.39 lei, though diesel there rose to 8.99 lei. The higher costs affect transport operators, logistics margins and consumer budgets in an economy already facing 9.7 % annual inflation.

In the same period, a separate report indicated that gasoline 95 in Moldova (per the national regulator ANRE) fell by 0.16 lei to 27.99 lei per litre and diesel decreased by 0.38 lei to 25.86 lei per litre. These opposing trends highlight regional volatility in fuel pricing and its impact on households and businesses.
