Romania hosts international canine competitions in Târgu Mureș and Craiova

Romania is hosting significant international canine events in September 2026. The 21st edition of the Dracula Dog Show took place in Târgu Mureș from September 18–20, featuring 476 dogs from over 30 countries. The event included six competitions, notably the Dracula Dog Show CACIB, which offered participants the chance to qualify for Crufts 2027. The finals were held at the Medieval Fortress of Târgu Mureș, where winners were awarded various titles, including the Dracula Golden Trophy.

Additionally, the FCI OPEN SAR 2026 is scheduled to be held in Craiova on September 26–27. Organized by the National Center for Canine Education (CNEC), this international search and rescue (SAR) competition serves as a final evaluation and qualification for the European Championship in Italy. More than 50 competitors from 11 teams, including participants from Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, and Montenegro, will compete in specialties such as rubble search, surface search, and tracking.
