Romania hosts two entrepreneurship events: Ovidius University AI project launch and SocialPedia summer conference

On 25 June 2026, Universitatea Ovidius din Constanța opened the GenAI project, an entrepreneurship initiative funded with 225,000 lei from the Ministry of Education and Research. The program adds an artificial‑intelligence component to the university’s decade‑long effort to foster student startups, offering micro‑grants to promising ideas and building on a track record of more than 1,500 participants across 150 teams.

A few days later, on 30 June 2026, the SocialPedia 77 conference took place at Restaurant Monarh in Bucharest. The event, themed “Entrepreneur in 2026: without off‑season,” featured speakers Petronela Păduraru, founder of the fashion brand Komoda, and Adrian Miu, co‑founder of Joyful Management. Attendees discussed how to keep businesses active during slower summer periods, develop sustainable processes, and leverage personal branding and social‑media strategies.

Both events highlight Romania’s focus on nurturing entrepreneurship through education and community‑driven knowledge sharing.
