Romania hosts upcoming literary festivals in Neptun and Iaşi

Romania is hosting two significant literary events this autumn. The ninth edition of the ‘Literatura Tinerilor’ (Youth Literature) Festival will take place from September 4–6, 2026, at the ‘Zaharia Stancu’ Writers' House in Neptun. The festival is dedicated to writers under the age of 35, regardless of whether they are members of the Writers' Union or have published a volume. The event features 14 young invited writers and a five-member jury, covering genres including poetry, prose, drama, and essays.

Additionally, the Iaşi International Literature and Translation Festival (FILIT) is scheduled for October 21–25, 2026. Organized by the Romanian Literature Museum, the festival will host prominent international and domestic authors. Notable guests include Booker Prize winner Paul Lynch, French bestselling author David Foenkinos, sociologist Parinoush Saniee, and Bosnian-American writer Aleksandar Hemon. The lineup includes a diverse array of international authors from countries such as Bulgaria, Canada, Turkey, Austria, Spain, Germany, Iceland, Norway, France, Ukraine, Italy, Hungary, Czechia, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, alongside several Romanian authors.
