Romania initiates restoration of historical monuments

Several historical sites in Romania have entered stages of rehabilitation and emergency repair. In Sfântu Gheorghe, restoration work has begun on the Mihai Viteazul Statuary Group. The project, advocated for by the Civic Forum of Romanians in Covasna, Harghita, and Mureș, aims to complete repairs by December 1 to coincide with Romania's National Day.

In Mamaia, the National Heritage Institute has launched a simplified bidding procedure for emergency works on the former Royal Villa, currently known as Club Castel. The estimated value for these urgent repairs, which focus on securing the roof and the floor above the ground level, is approximately 4.33 million lei excluding VAT. These initial interventions are part of a broader restoration effort under the national 'Cultural Foundations' program, funded by the Council of Europe Development Bank.
