Romania introduces AI usage guide for schools
Romanian schools have received a new guide for the use of artificial intelligence. Developed through a PNRR project, the document is intended as a recommended didactic auxiliary rather than a mandatory ministerial order.
Coordinated by Cătălin Glava, director of the Department for Teacher Training in Cluj-Napoca, the guide aims to promote AI literacy rather than prohibition. It is designed for both teachers and students, with usage recommendations varying by age group. The guide suggests avoiding AI for preschool and primary students, proposing guided use for middle school, and allowing significant use for high school students, provided they declare its use.
The initiative arose to fill a gap in the market, as similar comprehensive guides were previously unavailable in the country despite existing European models.
