Romania and Moldova implement diverse PNRR-funded infrastructure projects

Various regional projects across Romania and Moldova are being implemented or finalized through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and other European funding mechanisms. These initiatives focus on energy efficiency, infrastructure modernization, and public services.

In Romania, significant investments include the thermal rehabilitation of schools in Alba Iulia, the creation of a viticulture tourism promotion center in Adjud, and the completion of the EUroLanD scientific project at the University of Bucharest regarding land degradation. Other completed or ongoing works include video surveillance upgrades in Potcoava, energy efficiency projects for residential blocks in Mureș and Hunedoara, and the modernization of educational and administrative buildings in Lugoj.

In Moldova, a 2 million euro project is underway to improve the energy efficiency of the Diomid Gherman Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, funded by the EU, EIB, and EBRD. Additionally, Suceava officials are pushing for the timely completion of 95 PNRR-funded projects, while Sânnicolau Mare has secured funding for school facility upgrades.
