Romania moves July pension card payments to July 10, warns of filing delays

The National Public Pension House announced that because July 12 falls on a Sunday, pension payments made to cardholders – about 2.5 million Romanians – will be transferred on Friday, 10 July, two days earlier than the usual 12th. Payments to the roughly 2.1 million pensioners who receive their money through the postal service will continue on the regular 1‑15 day schedule. The minimum‑wage increase effective 1 July will also affect pension points for more than a million employees.

Pension authorities also warned that incomplete pension dossiers can postpone payouts for months. Missing documents such as certificates of permanent bonuses, records of special‑work conditions, or attestations from former employers often trigger requests for additional information, extending processing time. Officials advise applicants to verify all required records well before submitting to avoid prolonged suspensions of payments.
