Romania municipalities announce scheduled pest control campaigns

Local authorities in several Romanian regions have announced scheduled pest control and disinfection campaigns to combat insects and parasites.

In Ghiroda and Giarmata Vii, terrestrial disinfection is scheduled to begin at 21:30. The operations use GPS-monitored vehicles to ensure coverage of all streets. Authorized biocides Deltatim Plus and Microsin will be utilized. Residents are encouraged to perform similar treatments in private gardens and are advised to take precautions to protect honeybees.

In Galați, a large-scale campaign is planned for September 14–17, 2026. The program includes aerial larvicidal treatments via helicopter near water bodies on September 14, using the biological product Vectobac WG to target mosquito larvae. Subsequent ground-based treatments will occur between 22:00 and 06:00 from September 15 to 17, using ULV generators and thermal nebulizers with Solfac Combi MAXX and Solfac Trio EC 140 NF. Authorities have urged beekeepers and silkworm farmers to protect their livestock from public green space treatments.
