Romania offers unemployment aid and job‑placement incentives to 2026 graduates

The National Agency for Employment (ANOFM) announced that young people who complete any level of education in 2026 must register with public employment agencies within 60 days of graduation to access a range of free services. Eligible benefits include professional counselling, job‑matching mediation, free training courses, a six‑month unemployment allowance equal to 50 % of the Indicator of Social Reference (ISR), and a one‑time insertion bonus of three times the ISR (approximately 1,980 lei) for those who take a full‑time job lasting at least 12 months.

The programme covers graduates from gymnasium, vocational, high school, post‑secondary and university studies, whether they attend state schools or accredited private institutions. Registration requires an identity document, diploma or proof of graduation, a CV, a personal health declaration and consent for data processing. Refusal of a suitable job or non‑participation in the offered programmes disqualifies applicants from receiving the unemployment allowance.

Regional offices such as the County Employment Agency in Mureș (AJOFM) are handling registrations, with points of contact in Luduș, Reghin, Sighișoara, Târnăveni and Sovata for local residents.
