Romania partners with Poland, South Korea and Estonia on defense drones and ground vehicles

Romanian aerospace firm ROMAERO signed an agreement with Poland's WB Group to assemble and produce loitering‑munition attack drones for the Romanian Ministry of Defence. The collaboration, announced at the Black Sea Defence and Aerospace expo in Bucharest, targets the GLADIUS system, a 100‑km range loitering munition that combines reconnaissance UAVs with strike drones and will also serve European markets.

Separately, South Korea's Hanwha Aerospace entered a partnership with Estonia's Milrem Robotics to develop unmanned ground vehicle projects in Romania. The agreement expands Romania's domestic defence‑industry capabilities by adding robotic ground platforms alongside the aerial systems.

Both deals aim to boost Romania's indigenous production capacity, create jobs, and deepen its integration into NATO‑aligned defence supply chains.
