Romania pushes forward on Bucharest tram line and Prahova's Comarnic bypass

Work on Bucharest's tram line Lot 6, a 5.3‑km stretch serving lines 16 and 36, has progressed to over 90% excavation. Contractors are now building support walls, installing new contact poles and relocating utilities such as Apa Nova, Distrigaz and Netcity. The project, valued at 217.3 million lei and executed by the Tancrad‑Construcții Erbașu partnership, was slated for completion in March 2027, though the timeline appears uncertain.

In Prahova County, the Centura Comarnic bypass has entered the asphalt‑laying phase. County Council President Virgiliu Nanu affirmed that the work will meet the revised target of August completion, later than the original June deadline. The bypass is expected to divert traffic from the congested DN1, reducing travel delays for the Prahova Valley.
