Romania receives Slovakian radar support and additional US troops

Romanian Defense Minister Radu Miruță announced that Slovakia will provide radar systems and trained personnel to assist Romania in detecting low-flying aerial targets. This decision follows requests from Romania at both the NATO and European Union levels to increase surveillance along its eastern border, following a rise in drone incidents near the Ukrainian border.

Additionally, Miruță addressed concerns regarding the presence of American troops in the country. He stated that there have been no indications that the United States intends to withdraw its military personnel from Romania. On the contrary, he noted that a contingent of 400 additional American soldiers arrived in the country a few months ago, strengthening the local defense capabilities.
