Romania resumes animal and food exports to Libya
Romania is set to resume animal and animal product exports to Libya following the signing of six sanitary-veterinary certificates. The agreement follows a visit by an official Libyan delegation to Romania between October 5 and 10 to evaluate technical and sanitary conditions for trade.
The certificates cover several categories, including live sheep, goats, and cattle, as well as meat and organs from sheep and goats, poultry meat, and fish and fish products. During the mission, the Libyan delegation conducted inspections in Constanța, Vâlcea, and Olt counties, including a visit to the Avicarvil – La Provincia poultry slaughterhouse in Vâlcea to assess biosecurity and food safety standards.
Alexandru Nicolae Bociu, President of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), stated that the signing is a concrete step toward consolidating commercial relations and providing Romanian farmers and producers with access to new markets.
