Romania road projects in Cluj, Bihor and Maramureș see closures and modernization

The Cluj‑Napoca city hall announced that traffic will be fully closed on both directions of the Garibaldi Bridge area on July 17‑18, 2026, to allow construction of a temporary bridge linking Boulevard 1 Decembrie 1918 and Independence Boulevard. Drivers are directed to three alternative routes for the Manăștur‑Grigorescu–Center corridor and three routes for the opposite direction, with signage to be installed on site.

In Bihor County, the council began works on July 15 to modernise a 1.268‑km stretch of county road DJ 764A between the entrance to the Stâna de Vale ski resort and the Izvorul Minunilor area. The project uses a cold‑recycling method that grinds the existing pavement, mixes it with cement and relays a six‑centimetre‑thick asphalt layer. The investment, costing over 815,000 lei, is financed from the county budget and is expected to be finished by early August, with temporary traffic restrictions in force.

Maramureș County’s rehabilitation of county road DJ 182B (Baia Mare–Coaș) under the national Anghel Saligny program includes a new 250‑metre bridge at Cătălina, slated for completion on 15 September 2026. Works are progressing on bridge pillars and associated drainage, road stabilization and surfacing, with another bridge at Satu Nou de Jos to start soon. The project is co‑financed locally by the county council.
