Bucharest signs PUZ contracts for Radial Roads 9 and 10 linking city south to A0 beltway

The Bucharest City Hall has signed contracts to prepare detailed Zonal Urban Plans (PUZ) for two major radial roads. Road 9, known as the Sud Express, will connect the locality of Vidra with the A0 beltway, the DNCB corridor, Bulevardul Metalurgiei and Gara Progresul, and will be linked to Șoseaua Berceni and other nearby arterials. Road 10, the Măgurele Expres, will run from the A0 beltway through the city of Măgurele, the Măgurele Industrial Park and Prelungirea Ferentari, with connections to Șoseaua Giurgiului, Șoseaua Sălaj and the București–Măgurele route.

The PUZ documentation is slated for completion early next year, with construction expected to begin in 2028. Funding comes from the Transport Programme 2021‑2027 and the projects are coordinated by the Metropolitan Area Development Association (ADIZMB) in partnership with the Ministry of Transport and the National Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR). The initiative aims to divert transit traffic away from the city centre, reduce congestion and pollution, and form part of a broader plan for ten radial arteries linking Bucharest to the A0 beltway.
