Romania to Host Largest NATO Reserve Officers Congress in August
Romania will host the biggest annual gathering of NATO reserve officers from 29 member and partner states. The congress of the Interallied Confederations of Reserve Officers (CIOR), Reserve Medical Officers (CIOMR) and Reserve Non‑Commissioned Officers (CISOR) takes place in Bucharest from 2‑8 August under the High Patronage of the Romanian President.
More than 500 reservists will attend a program that includes specialist workshops, a civil‑military exercise (CIMEX‑26), a security symposium titled “Winning the war of narratives”, and the MILCOMP 2026 sport‑military competition. The event is organized by the Romanian Association of Reserve Officers (AORR) and the National Association of Military Cadres in Reserve and Retirement “Alexandru Ioan CUZA” (ANCMRR) together with the Ministry of National Defence, highlighting Romania’s role in collective defence amid the Russian war in Ukraine.
