Romania to open 2026 IVF programme registrations on August 17

Registration for the 2026 edition of Romania’s national IVF programme, designed to support couples and single women in boosting birth rates, will open on Monday, August 17, at 10:00. Applications will remain open until November 15.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity (MMFTSS), applications must be submitted exclusively online via the up-comunitate.ro platform. To be eligible, applicants must meet several cumulative criteria: at least one member of a couple or the single woman must be a Romanian citizen domiciled in Romania; all applicants must be registered with the Romanian healthcare insurance system; and the medical procedures must be performed at an accredited public or private partner facility within Romania.

Applicants must be between 24 and 42 years of age at the time of registration. Individuals who have already received financial support from similar public programmes in the current year are ineligible. Furthermore, previous beneficiaries may only register for the new session once the settlement process for their previous vouchers has been fully validated in the digital system. Under the programme's 2026–2030 implementation period, an eligible beneficiary is limited to a maximum of three participations.
