Romania announces October social benefit and pension payment schedule
The National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (ANPIS) has released the payment calendar for October 2026 regarding social benefits in Romania. Child allowances, child-rearing indemnities, and insertion stimulants are scheduled for bank transfers on October 8, with postal payments beginning October 10.
Disability benefits are set for October 14 via bank transfer and October 18 via post. Other social supports, including foster care allowances and food assistance for individuals with HIV/AIDS or tuberculosis, are scheduled for October 20.
Regarding pensions, retirees receiving payments via Romanian Post can expect distributions between October 1 and 15, while those using cards typically receive funds around October 12. Additionally, a government financial aid program for December will provide second installments of 300 to 500 lei to pensioners with monthly incomes up to 3,000 lei, based on their November earnings.
Legislative updates also include a proposal to expedite the payment of unpaid salary rights for public sector employees who are retiring or already retired, potentially bypassing the current five-year installment plan. Furthermore, students aged 16 to 26 receiving survivor pensions must submit proof of continued studies by November 1 to avoid suspension of benefits.
