Romania Transport Ministry reports on helicopter use and CFR Călători budget
The Romanian Ministry of Transport has released data regarding helicopter usage by former ministers. According to official responses, Sorin Mihai Grindeanu conducted 17 helicopter trips during his mandate, while Ciprian Constantin Şerban conducted 6 trips. The ministry noted these flights were performed in the interest of service using state-owned RAAPPS helicopters.
Separately, interim Transport Minister Radu Miruță addressed concerns regarding the continuity of rail services. He assured that CFR Călători trains will not stop operating and that the company's budget will be approved. Miruță emphasized that the ministry will only approve budgets that reflect financial reality rather than those requested by unions without sufficient coverage. He also noted that the ministry is analyzing subsidies to ensure they benefit passengers rather than funding empty train runs.
