Romania upgrades local infrastructure: airport tower insurance and residential energy retrofits

The administration of Brașov International Airport renewed a property insurance policy for its virtual air‑traffic control tower and other airport buildings. The contract, worth 29,870 lei (excluding VAT) and awarded to Adler Broker Asigurare‑Reasigurare, extends coverage to fire, lightning, storms, earthquakes, floods, vandalism, riots and other risks, protecting the airport’s recent investment in the virtual tower system.

In Caransebeș, the city council and the West Regional Development Agency signed a new financing agreement of 6.9 million lei to improve the energy efficiency of two residential blocks (numbers 3 and 4 on Ardealului Street). Over 19 months, the works will include exterior wall and floor insulation, replacement of windows and doors with high‑performance units, installation of LED lighting, photovoltaic panels, accessibility upgrades for people with disabilities, and renovation of balconies, gutters and railings. Upon completion, residents will benefit from better thermal comfort and reduced utility costs.
