Romania and Moldova face severe weather shifts and temperature drops

Romania and Moldova are experiencing significant weather shifts, moving from recent heatwaves to periods of atmospheric instability. In Romania, the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued various alerts for torrential rain, thunderstorms, and wind gusts reaching 40–70 km/h. These conditions are expected to affect different regions throughout the weekend, with heavy precipitation potentially exceeding 40 liters per square meter in parts of Moldova, Muntenia, and Dobrogea.

Temperature fluctuations are also notable. While some southeastern regions may maintain warmer temperatures, much of the country, particularly the west, center, and north, will see a sharp decline. In Maramureș, maximum temperatures could drop to around 17 degrees Celsius.

In the Republic of Moldova, the Autoritatea de Meteorologie și Monitoring de Mediu has issued yellow alerts for heavy rains and potential storms. Residents are advised to exercise caution during travel and to prepare for changing conditions as temperatures moderate across the country.
