Romanian Alba firefighters aid French wildfire missions under EU Civil Protection

Eight firefighters from the ISU Alba unit, specialized in forest‑fire fighting, have been deployed to France as part of the European Civil Protection Mechanism. Working side‑by‑side with French counterparts, they have tackled high‑complexity vegetation fires, evacuated more than 150 propane cylinders from a campsite, protected local communities and secured a nearby photovoltaic park near Montalba.

The crews operate around the clock despite difficult weather and strong winds, and ISU Alba representatives praised their courage and professionalism, wishing them a safe return home.
