Bucharest animal shelters request supplies as free sterilisation campaign starts in Găvojdia

The Authority for Animal Protection (ASPA) in Bucharest has launched an appeal for donations of absorbent pads, towels and blankets to support veterinary care in its shelters. The organisation notes that these consumables are essential for daily consultations, treatments and surgeries, and that stock levels are rapidly depleting.

Separately, the Free Amely 2007 Association is organising a free sterilisation campaign for dogs and cats in Găvojdia on 31 July and 1 August. Veterinary staff will provide neutering at no cost, requiring only the animal’s ID and health record. The initiative aims to curb stray populations and hormone‑related diseases, and is sponsored by a German animal‑welfare group.
