Romanian AUR launches Baia Mare outreach campaign while claiming 40% vote target

Deputy Daniel Ciornei of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) opened a week‑long "AUR te Aude" campaign in Baia Mare, setting up a tent in the city centre and pledging to meet residents in every neighbourhood. He said the initiative aims to present AUR’s governing programme and collect citizens’ complaints, stating: "Prin campania «AUR te Aude» vrem să le prezentăm băimărenilor ce măsuri am implementa dacă mâine am ajunge la guvernare, dar și să ascultăm problemele reale ale oamenilor."

AUR vice‑president Dan Dungaciu told interviewers the party expects to exceed the 40 % threshold in the next elections, declaring: "Noi suntem absolut convinși." He linked this confidence to the possibility of early elections, criticized the Social Democratic Party’s stance, and suggested a new government could be formed quickly if a parliamentary majority were secured.
