Romanian authorities conduct forest search in Argeș and issue bear warning in Maramureș
In Pitești, emergency services including firefighters, police and gendarmes deployed to the Trivale forest near the Cornul Vânătorului area after a 112 call reported cries coming from the woods. Teams used thermal cameras and ground patrols throughout the night and morning to locate any persons in distress, though no injuries have been confirmed yet.
Separately, mountain gendarmes in Cavnic, Maramureș reported fresh bear tracks on the tourist trail that links Pasul Neteda to the Trei Apostoli‑Creasta Cocoșului ridge. Authorities issued a public warning urging hikers to exercise heightened caution, avoid early‑morning walks in dense forest, and follow safety protocols if they encounter a bear.
