Romanian banks roll out digital insurance services via mobile apps

UniCredit Bank announced that its Mobile Banking app now includes a dedicated insurance section, allowing customers to purchase four core products – MyHome, MyCar, RCA and MyTravel – as well as more complex solutions such as Genius Protect, Umbrella and Start Invest. The service is provided through a digital partnership with Allianz‑Țiriac, making the entire process 100 % online.

Banca Transilvania launched a diaspora‑focused campaign (June 16‑30) that offers a 5 % cashback of up to €100 for new customers who open an account through BT Pay and pay with their phone, plus a 15 % cashback on home‑insurance policies. The promotion also highlights mortgage loans without analysis fees and discounted medical‑subscription packages, aiming to attract Romanians living abroad and cross‑sell higher‑margin banking and insurance products.
