Romanian banks roll out new support programs for small businesses
UniCredit Bank Romania continued its Entrepreneurial Residency program in Brașov, opening a second call for creative and social enterprises that run from 10 – 23 June 2026. Selected businesses will receive a subsidised space, up to €1,000 for venue customization, €500 for promotion, and business consulting worth roughly €1,000. The first resident, the ZADA embroidery and product‑design studio, will use the three‑week residency to host workshops, networking events and a public exhibition.
At the same time, BRD Groupe Société Générale announced a partnership with Startarium that gives Romanian entrepreneurs free one‑year access to the Startarium Premium platform until 26 June 2026. The service provides industry‑specific financial‑planning models, one‑on‑one mentorship, practical courses in marketing, sales and leadership, and an AI‑driven digital coach. The offer is open to all SMEs, regardless of whether they are BRD clients, and is intended to strengthen the bank’s ecosystem for small and medium‑size enterprises.
Both initiatives aim to expand banking support beyond financing, offering know‑how, tools and physical space to help Romanian start‑ups and SMEs grow.
