Industry representatives said about 90,000 Romanians are at the Black Sea coast this weekend, the highest occupancy since the season began. They expect the seaside to reach full (100 %) capacity within the next two‑to‑three weeks as the school‑holiday period starts. The sector is still coping with a 35‑40 % drop in visitor numbers and overnight stays compared with last year after vacation tickets were halved, and a 45 % slump during the May 1 mini‑holiday. Recovery is being helped by a heat wave, modest price rises of 7‑10 %, and new programmes such as the Dobrogean Gastronomic Week, events at Portul Turistic Tomis and the reopening of the Constanța Casino.

FlixBus is expanding its network with seasonal routes to the Romanian coast, the Danube Delta and Greece, offering prices from 42 RON (Bucharest‑Constanța) to 48 EUR (Bucharest‑Athens). In Constanța, the City Tour hop‑on/hop‑off bus service has lengthened its operating hours from 9:00 to 20:40 (or 22:00 on the Mamaia end) with 25‑minute intervals.

At the Diakovți–Racovăț border crossing, authorities have temporarily allowed tourist coaches to enter Romania, reflecting the surge in cross‑border holiday traffic at the start of the summer season.
